One week in Sardinia packed full of climbing

Climb on our best seaside crags with an IFMGA Mountain Guide and a colourful group of friends

Our climbing camps last one week, arriving in Sardinia on a Saturday and leaving the following Saturday.

The Climbing camp will allow you to practice climbing as much as possible, choosing the best crags, the best company and the best food on the island. From vertical slabs to overhanging red tufas you will enjoy climbing the perfect and unspoiled limestone crags that make Sardinia so special.

Our Climbing Camp is based in Cala Gonone: a small seaside town surrounded by an incredible amount of limestone crags. There are 54 climbing sectors and over a thousand sport-climbing routes in Cala Gonone alone. The magnitude of limestone crags and the wonderful and peaceful location made it one of the most famous climbing destinations in Europe.

During our stay here we will choose the best crags, accordingly to the group’s skills and weather conditions. You probably have heard of the sectors Biddiriscottai, Fuili, Millennium, La Poltrona, Buchi Arta and more. All these sectors are located within a 2 miles radius around Cala Gonone. Our schedule is very flexible and the crag of choice can be decided day by day.

Saturday: we will organise a pick up on Saturday evening from Olbia airport to Cala Gonone.

Sunday: on Sunday morning, after a peaceful breakfast, our guide will meet the group, settle the last details for the week, and ….climbing begins!

Monday: climbing, climbing, climbing ?

Tuesday: swimming in the morning and climbing in the afternoon. At the end of the day, we will take an aperitif by the sea (included in the price)

Wednesday: rest day. You are free to relax by the sea or do any other activity. We are happy to suggest a wide range of things to do, from hiking to renting a boat

Thursday: we resume climbing and in the evening we will have dinner at a local farmhouse, where you can taste some very special Sardinian delicacies.

Friday: this is our last day of climbing, so will try to do as much as possible and try to send all the projects tried during the week.

Saturday: we will organise a group transfer to the airport in the morning, or at the best time to suit everyone in the group.

If you want to take a day off at any time,  to rest or enjoy swimming, mountain-biking or trekking, we have connections with many local sports associations and can help you find the perfect alternative sport.

Climbing Camps – 6 giorni con Guida Alpina

Participants: 6 to 8 people

Languages spoken: English, French and Italian

Choose the date and send us your request.

After we receive your request we will get in touch to confirm your place at the Climbing Camp. Only then we will ask for a booking deposit of €149.

You can settle the remaining payment at least one month before the starting of your Climbing Camp.

How much do we climb?

On the 6 days climbing camp you will be climbing for at least 5 days. We have a rest day on the Wednesday but, if you like, you can climb also then.

Your climbing day lasts about 6 hours. Our guide will suggest a plan, accordingly with your preferences and choose whether to start early morning or soon after lunch.

Choosing early morning means meeting the guide at 7 am and climbing on a shady crag until the sun hits it at about 1 pm.

If you choose to climb in the afternoon you will meet the guide at 2 pm, and reach the crag as the shade arrives, climbing until sunset (8 pm approx)

How many people can participate?
Our 6 days climbing camp is suited for small groups of 8 PEOPLE MAX

The minimun number oif participants is 6. Anyhow we are happy to organize it for a smaller group if all participants are happy to pay a slighly higher price.

What should I have?
It is enough to have your climbing shoes.

Our guide will have all the necessary equipment. If you already own a harness and a helmet you can use them, as long as they are type-tested and in a good shape.

There is also a Climbing Shop in Cala Gonone, where you can buy anything you need for climibing.

What's the best time for climbing in Sardinia?
Autumn, Spring and Winter are the best seasons as they have the perfect temperatures to climb most of the crags in Sardinia.

There are of course some crags that can be climbed only in the summer, but the vast majority are best to be climbed when temperatures are not higher than 25° C.

April to June and September to November are surely the best time ranges for climbing any crag in Sardinia.

What happens in case of bad weather?
In case of bad weather, our guide will try to find an alternative destination. Sometimes it rains in Cala Gonone while it’s sunny in Baunei…

The cost for transfers to a new location are not included in the plan and should be shared between those who want to move to that location.
