The Canyon Riu Pitrisconi is accessible to beginners and families too (the minimum age is 8). No need for equipment or technical skills, our guides take care of all manoeuvres, supervising the entire group and guaranteeing.
It is located near San Teodoro, in the natural park of Monte Nieddu, amongst granite hills and dense pine woods. The Riu Pitrisconi has a modest flow of water, even during the peak of summer, and the pools of emerald water are clear and deep enough to jump from various heights.
The Riu Pitrisconi is probably the most beautiful canyon in Sardinia: immersed in a wild landscape shaped by curvy granite rocks and adorned with flowery oleanders. While descending the canyon we will encounter many of its inhabitants, such as black, red and blue dragonflies, tiny tree frogs and innocuous grass snakes.
From the first abseil, the itinerary never leaves the riverbed. We will abseil to descend its waterfalls, or simply jump into the pools or slide down the slippy rocks. While the most adventurous participants can enjoy jumping, those who do not feel like risking can abseil with the aid of our guides, without any pressure.

Expected return: 2:00 pm
From our meeting point, we will get ready by putting on wetsuits and harnesses. Then we will board our off-road vehicles to reach the canyon starting point (20 minutes on a dirt road).
The total time is about 5 hours.
What should I bring?
Clothing: swimsuit and a short-sleeved t-shirt.
Footwear: sneakers or well-secured sandals.
- NO flip-flops
- NO open sandals
- NO water shoes.
Water and Food: 1 liter of water per participant and some snacks to eat during the descent.

Clothing
Clothing: Please wear a bathing suit and possibly a polyester T-shirt under your wet suit. We recommend having a change of clothes to leave in the car and wear after getting back.
Foot Wear: we will be walking on slippery rocks and on rocky paths. It is important to wear trainers or closed sandals. NO flip-flops!!!
Walking Back: At the end of the canyon, the group walks 30 minutes on a path to get back to the starting point.
