One week in Sardinia packed full of climbing
Climb on our best seaside crags with our IFMGA Mountain Guides and a colourful group of friends
Join us for an unforgettable week-long climbing camp in Sardinia, led exclusively by professional IFMGA Mountain Guides! Arrive on Sunday, settle in, and spend the week fully immersed in the island’s breathtaking landscapes, departing the following Sunday.
This camp is all about climbing, having fun, and sharing the experience with fellow climbers. Our guides will take you to the best crags, from delicate vertical slabs to striking overhanging red tufas, on pristine, unspoiled limestone that makes Sardinia a world-renowned climbing paradise.
Beyond the rock, there’s plenty of time to socialize and enjoy the local atmosphere. Evenings are spent together in town, enjoying an aperitif by the sea and savoring delicious Italian cuisine—a perfect way to unwind and share stories from the day.
Our location: Cala Gonone
Our base camp is in Cala Gonone, a charming seaside town encircled by a wealth of limestone crags. With 54 climbing sectors and over 1,200 sport-climbing routes in the area, Cala Gonone has earned its place as one of Europe’s premier climbing destinations.
Each day, we’ll handpick the best climbing spots based on the group’s skills and the weather, ensuring an experience tailored just for you. Famous sectors like Biddiriscottai, Fuili, Millennium, La Poltrona and Buchi Arta are all within a short 2-mile radius of town. With a flexible schedule, we’ll decide the perfect crag to visit each day, so you can enjoy Sardinia’s unique climbing gems to the fullest.

- Mental preparation and rehearsal.
- Coaching of movement for lead climbing.
- Training: Flexibility, strength and power.

- Advanced rope-work for climbers: closed-ring threading, rescue, abseiling and communicating.
- Emergency retreat from a dangerous route.
Climbing Experience
Our team consists exclusively of fully qualified IFMGA Mountain Guides, each with extensive experience in teaching and supporting climbers of all levels. On the first day, the guide will assess each participant’s skills and tailor the week to help everyone progress and make the most of their rock-climbing experience.
If you’ve never climbed outdoors, this is an ideal opportunity to learn from highly trained professionals in a supportive group environment. Your guide will take care of you throughout the week, teaching all essential skills—belaying, leading, movement technique, safety systems—so you can enjoy your first outdoor climbing experience with confidence.
If you already have some experience, you’ll be able to move past the basics and focus more on climbing and developing your technique. Our guides are equally skilled at helping experienced climbers refine specific skills, push their grade, or work on personalised goals.
We recommend learning how to belay and how to thread a closed-ring lower-off before attending the camp, but don’t worry—your guide will support you on whichever level you’re starting from.

How much do we climb?
On this week-long climbing camp, you can climb for up to 6 days 🧗♀️
Your climbing day may last up to 8 hours. Our guide will suggest a plan, according to the group’s preferences and choose whether to start early morning or soon after lunch.
If the weather gets too hot, the guide may decide to meet as early as 7 am and climb on a shady crag until the sun hits it at about 1 pm.
Alternatively, it is possible to take the morning off and climb in the afternoon. In this case, you’d meet the guide at 2 pm, and reach the crag as the shade arrives, climbing until sunset (8 pm approx)
How many people can participate?
Our 6-day climbing camp is designed for small groups of up to 12 participants. To ensure safety and a high-quality experience, participants are divided into two groups, with each IFMGA Mountain Guide looking after a maximum of 6 climbers.
The minimum number of participants is 4, but we’re happy to run the camp for a smaller group if everyone agrees to a slightly higher price.
Bad weather
🌦 In case of light rain, we may still be able to do a half-day climbing session if conditions allow.
☔ If the weather prevents climbing entirely, the guides can suggest alternative activities to make the most of the day. Options include exploring the stunning hiking trails around Cala Gonone or visiting some of the spectacular natural caves near town. This way, even on a rainy day, there’s still a chance to enjoy the beauty of the area.
Insurance
All our Mountain Guides are IFMGA qualified and hold a full professional insurance. This will only cover all accidents that are caused directly by the guide.
If, for example, someone sprains their ankle while walking to the crag, it is best to have a personal insurance to cover eventual medical costs.
In addition, a good travel insurance policy would pay back if your flight is cancelled, or you have to cancel your holiday at the last minute.
A simple online search would reveal many companies that offer good Travel Insurances for Climbing Holidays.
Cancellation
In the unfortunate case that you have to cancel your booking, we may keep part of it as a voucher that you may re-use for a future booking within the same year. This is subject to availability, and if we would not able to accommodate your trip in the same year, the voucher will be automatically extended to the next year.
CANCELLATION REFUNDS
Over 2 months of notice: we refund 100% of what you paid
Over 21 days of notice: we will refund 80% of what you paid
Less than 21 days of notice: no refund
CANCELLATION BY CLIMBING SARDINIA
In the unlikely event that we may be forced to cancel a tour, we will refund 100% of what you paid.
Although cancellations from our side are rare, we advise all participants to always purchase insurance on flight tickets. This would guarantee no losses on your side.
