CANYONING CODULA FUILI
BOOK NOWCanyoning Codula Fuili
The Codula Fuili is a dry canyon located near the town of Cala Gonone, on the west coast of Sardinia. The canyoning descent of the Codula Fuili is 3 kilometres long and includes 4 abseils as high as 23 metres. The entire descent takes about 3 hours.
Starting from the mountains above the town we will enter the ancient riverbed, following its course through narrow gorges and down to the sea. At the end of the canyon, we will reach the tiny cove Cala Fuili, known for its beauty and for being the start of the trekking to Cala Luna.
We will enter an unfamiliar and silent part of Sardinia, where only birds of prey and tiny reptiles are at home. On walking the Codula Fuili we will witness the scars of past geological turmoil. Ancient rivers and volcanoes gave life to a continuous process of erosion and deposit, forming large plateaus and carving deep and narrow gorges.
How long does it take to reach the canyon?
We will meet in Cala Gonone and park our cars by the beach Cala Fuili. Before you book your tour please read below and choose how you would prefer to reach the canyon.
— Long Approach
For groups that prefer walking, we will start our adventure from the cove Cala Fuili, hiking on an ancient mule track used by charcoal burners during the nineteenth century. Passing from abandoned shepherds huts and caves, we will reach the entrance of the canyon Codula Fuili in about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
The total time with the long approach is about 6 hours.
— NO Approach
In order to avoid the walk, you can opt for a car transfer. We will leave your car by the beach Cala Fuili, where our canyon ends. From there we will jump on our vehicles and drive to the entrance of the canyon (30 minutes).
The total time with the short approach is about 4 hours.

HOW DIFFICULT IS THE CANYON CODULA FUILI?
The Codula Fuili is probably the easiest canyon in Sardinia.
We can reduce the approach by driving directly to the entrance of the canyon, descending it to the beach where cars are parked. The total distance will be just less than 3 kilometres.
Anyhow, being a mountain activity canyoning still requires being in good physical shape and able to walk on very uneven terrain. We will scramble on large boulders, use fixed ropes to descend hard or slippery passages and abseil on ropes.
It means that participants should be fit to sustain fatigue and have no anxiety about heights and abseiling.
WHAT DO I NEED?
Nothing special, just things you already have. We provide all necessary equipment such as ropes, harnesses etc.
You should wear hiking shoes and comfortable clothing, suitable for walking and suited to the season.
Each participant should also have a Backpack to carry water, food and the equipment we will handle out.
